How amazing would it be to dedicate just one day to immersing yourself in a stunning symphony — meeting like-minded people, making music, having fun — without committing to weeks and weeks of rehearsals?

That is exactly the vision of Symphony in a Day, and I warmly invite you to be part of it. Whether you’re a professional, a regular player or simply someone who’s been longing for the thrill of playing in a large orchestra again — this is your chance.

Plan for the Day
​
Musicians should arrive at St Peter's Church for 9:30am registration ready to start at 10am. (Strings, Wind, Brass & Percussion) the Performance Set sheet music will be given out provided by The Elgar School of Music Library. Feel Free to download an IMSLP version before the day to go over your part.
For Breaks, Tea and coffees and biscuits will be provided. Lunchtime: There are 2 pubs in Inkberrow and especially The Old Bull is lovely and is famous for The Archer's BBC Drama radio play series but you can also sign up with sandwiches lunch for an extra £6.

Then back to continue blasting the movements and putting the Symphony together until 4pm.
​
After the rehearsal time we will relax and get ready to perform the Symphony for your friends, family and general public at 5pm. It will cost them only 8 pounds for audience members!
When booking the entry please could you click on your instrument on the sign up page so we know how many are in each section.
As you know woodwind and brass spaces are limited so get in quickly!!
Getting to Alcester is easy by train to Redditch or Stratford Upon Avon. Probably can arrange pick ups There is plenty of parking space at St Peter's Church.

Also if you're coming up the night before if you'd like to make a meal of it and we all meet up in the wonderful tourist town of Stratford Upon Avon we can arrange a meal out and get together too.
